Helen’s Place LLC, an information and educational materials company, celebrates English Language Arts, Cognitive Science and the love of birds.

Originally founded in 2000 as Emotional Fitness Network (efnonline.com), EFN is now an important section of the website to provide cognitive science inspiration. Helen's Place LLC believes that developing emotional fitness is critical to improve learning outcomes and make better career choices.

In summer 2021 Helen’s Place LLC began rolling out a new product line of fun educational materials for children and teachers about birds and self-discovery.  This  printed instructional, educational, and teaching materials for children and adults, is in the field of English Language Arts and Cognitive Science.

Helen’s Place LLC is a women’s and veteran-owned business in Dallas, TX owned by Robin Carpenter, a Navy veteran with over twenty years experience in the instructional design, career services, government, and education industries.

ABOUT ROBIN

Robin Carpenter is the author of The Feather Birdhouse or Birds On The Move. This is the first in an anticipated three-part series to educate and entertain kids during tough times with a coming-of-age story encouraging them to grab a sketchbook, go birdwatching and care about the environment. She frequently asks the question, “What’s in your birdhouse world?” noting that it’s tough to be a bird, and “when you learn about birds you discover yourself.”

Robin holds an M.Ed. in Education technology from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. As an instructional designer, she's most interested in helping children develop into independent thinkers and emotionally fit people.   She wants educators and parents to teach children to navigate through life in a constructive way and maximize their choices in the real world, without becoming cynical or bitter.

ABOUT HELEN

Legend has it that Helen McFarland helped develop the brownie and cheesecake recipes for Sara Lee Corporation, out of her kitchen in Highland Park, Il. She obtained her first job, when she was 75 years old, as a caregiver for a woman with Alzheimer’s.

Beloved and missed by all who knew her, Helen lived to be 100. Her life and inspiration lives on through the company named for her, Helen’s Place LLC.

She also loved birds.
