Helen’s Place LLC Update June 1, 2025
Americans don’t really like wading through all kinds of disinformation to find out what’s going on, but sometimes they have to – like when economic issues start affecting their personal lives and businesses.
Out of necessity, Americans are wising up to the political tricks of using propaganda to turn Americans against each other – rather than developing policies that benefit people.
Evaluations Underway
It’s not that hard to figure out who’s telling the truth, but it takes time and effort.
Americans at their core know that fixing politics starts with people sitting down at the table with each other and deciding how the government is helping them or not. Then standing up to Congress, local officials, and news sources to voice their concerns and demand that the problems they’ve identified be fixed.
Hard reality is forcing Americans to enter an anti-political era where they recognize flaws and biases and say “no” to people twisting laws around for harmful purposes, or tricking them down a rabbit hole of deceit for political gain.
This is why for some – Trump’s version of “The Apprentice in the White House” TV show is getting old.
An example of this performance is Trump strong-arming ABC news interviewer, Terry Moran on April 30, 2025 with – “Just say it!” insisting that he say that photoshopped numbers were actually gang tattoos on pictures of Abrego Garcia’s hand.
In essence, “Just say it!’ is the same tactic Trump uses when insisting that “the 2020 election was stolen!” and expecting people to go along with the lie.
Deciding a Course of Action
What’s true is that the American people will generally pass on reruns; are done with being manipulated or controlled, and tired of spinning, outright lying, and name calling to make the other side look bad.
Instead, economic uncertainty has caused many to stop being outraged and start evaluating what appears to be working or not working in their lives, rather than be concerned if someone is corrupt or not.
Right or wrong – at times like these Americans aren’t in the mood to be generous or spend money to help those unfortunate in other countries or at home.
Spending priorities get down to serious questions, “What is this going to cost me?” “How does this fix my problem(s)?” “How does this get me what I want?”
When the jig is up – or the sh-* hits the fan, as it has now, Americans will decide a course of action rather than wring their hands and do nothing or complain and blame someone else for their problems.
The bottom line is that realizing that they are being threatened financially, Americans pay attention to what the political parties are actually doing, not just what they’re saying.
Both Political Parties MUST Change
It’s obvious to the majority of Americans when political parties have gone too far to the extreme in one direction or the other. In a nutshell, many identify Democrats as “woke,” and Republicans as messing with the economy to destroy America for personal gain.
This is why if Democrats or Republicans want to stop or get rid of immigrants, or keep them coming to America – they must prove their case to the American people – without assumptions or hateful rhetoric.
The case for immigration must be fact driven, based on what America needs in terms of employment, and contributions to American society.
If it turns out that America really needs workers – it would make no sense to deport any law-abiding person – regardless of immigration status.
In fact it might be a huge financial loss for Americans to lose the tax revenue and pay for deportations.
Eventually, Americans will figure this out!
The Democrats
If Democrats want to win back voters – those in Democratic party leadership might benefit from accepting the fact that they don’t have a messaging problem, but a belief problem – that the majority of Americans don’t agree with.
This includes believing in: “pathways to citizenship” for illegal non-immigrants, correct pronoun usage for categorizing gay people, transgender men in women’s sports, and changing or altering the gender on birth certificates.
Many perceptions, exaggerations and falsehoods that went into destroying the Democratic brand were self-inflicted, and Democrats would benefit from not repeating the same mistake.
For example using the phrase “defund the police,” after George Floyd’s death was dumb, reflecting that too much moralizing, expressions of outrage, and emphasis on goodness is causing Americans to call them “woke.”
Democrats would help themselves by focusing on practical issues and proving how what they want to do will improve people’s lives.
The Republicans
If Republicans want to keep voters -they’re going to have to be far less extreme. Trump, for example, would have to drop his tariff policy insanity, and stop messing with Americans safety net of basic entitlement programs like Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.
The Contrarian stated the Republican problem clearly on May 9, 2025:
Why would Trump add “thousands to construction costs for new homes and remodels?” Why would he add thousands to the cost of cars? He either has no idea what impact his schemes have on the economy, or worse, is so far removed from the concerns of ordinary Americans that he cannot be bothered to find out.
(Again, on Sunday, he insisted, “I’m just saying they don’t need to have 30 dolls. They can have three. They don’t need to have 250 pencils. They can have five.”) The man who has gilded the Oval Office with garish gold trimmings and enriches himself with cryptocurrency says, in effect, “Let ‘em eat cake!”
This illustrates how many Americans are just as annoyed by the beliefs and rhetoric of Republicans as they are with the Democrats.
Another example of this is the use of “anti-woke,” slams on diversity, equity and Inclusion (DEI), as well as the overuse of the word “elitist” – to mean anyone you don’t like.
The bottom line is that when Republicans blame wokeness and DEI – on disasters like why the 2025 LA fires happened causing the loss of 17,000 homes – they’ve gone too far.
What American’s Want
The focus on America surrounds economic issues. Basically, Americans want the same things:
-
- Jobs and entitlement protection to prevent people’s livelihoods or sources of income from being disrupted.
-
- Preparations for severe weather and disasters – including keeping The Weather Service and FEMA open.
-
- Legal due process rights – including stopping armed police and ICE raids and/or deportations against people living in America, including non-citizens.
-
- Good intelligence and recognizance to stop attacks on Americans including cyber-attacks.
-
- Food safety inspections on food grown within and outside the country.
-
- Healthcare, health and safety threat monitoring and vaccine availability.
-
- Personal freedom to allow Americans to live their lives without being told what to do or how to act – including preserving religious freedom.
Fact-Checking Both Political Parties
Due to what’s at stake personally, Americans have started analyzing the rhetoric from both sides. Call it “Comparative News Analysis” (CNA) – that Americans can’t get enough of.
At the moment, many Americans have identified that they have a better use of their time than scrolling mindlessly through TikTok.
Some know that the biggest risk of using social media to excess is that they might be influenced by lies that could cost them.
The good news is that in addition to reliable sources, some AI generated fact checking software is available now and a boon to American society – especially for people trying to suss out all the false arguments in news stories.
Asking Google’s new AI search, “How do you determine the correct facts in a story?” returned:
“To determine the correct facts in a story, you need to verify the information against reliable sources. This involves comparing claims to evidence, consulting multiple sources, and considering the context of the story. If a statement is something that can be proven true or false, it’s a fact; if it’s an opinion, it’s not a fact.”
Not bad Google!
