Helen’s Place LLC Update: June 13, 2025
America is at the crossroads to remain one of the greatest countries on earth – or lose its status on the world stage.
This is why to protect and preserve America, we need Pride Month more than ever – which could be called “Pride and Ingenuity Month.”
We need to celebrate the achievements Americans of all stripes and persuasions are making constantly.
We know that every American has the potential to be the inventor in their own life and it’s unnecessary to be considered a “genius” to have value.
It’s also fitting that on June 14thFlag Day, we celebrate the adoption of the U.S. flag by the Continental Army in 1777. The American flag honors the values of freedom, liberty and unity, and stands as a reminder that we have a higher purpose to uphold. It’s also the Army’s birthday, and we celebrate the Army and all branches of military service.
No matter what:
- Americans are fearless – in the midst of terror.
- Americans come up with new ideas and invent things – despite all odds against them.
- Americans build and make things – sometimes from nothing.
American Ingenuity
It boils down to, “when the going gets tough, the tough get going,” and Americans will not be stopped – regardless of who holds political power.
This is because not only do Americans invent things, but they figure out ingenious ways to solve problems every day, including work arounds to get things done when they’re told, “no.”
So when non-immigrant college students in Texas, for example, can’t get in-state tuition to attend college anymore, or the Trump Administration provision to cap medical students’ student loan amounts – so that the costs of med school won’t be covered – many will find a way through anyway.
Pride & Ingenuity Day – Celebrations and Salutes:
On June 14th – let’s celebrate Pride and Ingenuity Month and salute those working on the next great ideas despite the obstacles they face, including:
-
People working on cures for cancer and other diseases.
-
People working to solve climate change induced problems.
-
Those standing up and speaking out for things that matter like freedom and the rule of law.
-
Those finding ingenious ways to protect and defend American democracy – even from itself.
-
Those speaking out against disinformation and misinformation – including what to do about misuse of AI and social media.
-
People backing up all those making things happen – including the support people everywhere.
Spurring on Ingenuity
This summer and every day we resolve to:
-
Get out on trips to experience America and the world – within whatever budgets we have – even free walks in a park.
-
Get out and taste new foods – even at a food truck.
-
Welcome visitors to America – by offering directions or buying food or a drink.
-
Celebrate everyone – the young, middle and old making contributions in a multitude of ways – large and small.
Remembering our Immigration History
During Pride and Ingenuity Day and Month – we remember all of the immigrants who came before us, including our ancestors -farmers, business people, inventors and scientists – who revolutionized and made our country what it is today.
